Because they broke it, and just cannot fucking fix it properly. All in all, a reading farce going on for nearly a year now. Then whatever they did to fix this, but it left Bookworm sims in a spot of bother as they only read for very short spurts, before retuning the partially, minimally read book back into bookcase. Sims kept getting books, one after the other but could not read, over an over. Then the hotfix a week later to specifically mend the broken reading, but actually made it worse.
